What is this?

A compost heap is an ecosystem of decomposition, an artful mixture of organic materials and microorganisms that helps to naturally recycle nutrients and create soil fertility. It is a spiritual practice of honoring the cycle of life, showing reverence for our shared Earth and its capacity to heal itself. The compost heap not only provides sustenance to plants, but also to the invisible web of life – the microbes, earthworms, and fungi – which helps to build a more vibrant, living earth.
